Senior Brand Manager - Purina

The Opportunity


Nestlé Purina PetCare NZ is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Brand Manager to join our Specialist Team.


In this role, you will be responsible for the development of the 3-year brand strategy, leveraging best-in-class consumer insights to drive effective communication and successful innovation.


A day in the Life…


  • Develop a Masterbrand Pro Plan brand strategy to drive Pro Plan advocacy across multiple channels, including Vet, Rural, and Pet Stores.
  • Coach and develop a team of three direct reports.
  • Foster strong relationships with key strategic business partners to unlock future growth opportunities.
  • Establish collaborative working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders including; local and global colleagues as well as agency partners.
  • Understand and manage the financial aspects of the brand, including the impact of competitive plans, brand/portfolio P&L and identify associated risks.
  • Understand consumer segmentation and embed this understanding within the wider business.
  • Monitor and analyse brand performance metrics including sales volumes, market share trends and competitor activity
  • Own the development of communication strategies and local media briefing


What will make you successful:


  • Experience or knowledge in the PetCare industry or Specialist Petcare channel.
  • Strong background in marketing, with an understanding of marketing principles and strategies.
  • Demonstrated experience in people management, including leading and developing a team.
  • Proven experience working effectively in cross-functional teams, collaborating with colleagues from different departments and disciplines.
