Job Title: Senior Ceramics Instructor

Rate: $2,600-3,500
Location: Orchard Central, Orchard Road, Singapore
Overall Job Objectives:
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Senior Ceramic Instructor to lead our ceramics program and inspire students through advanced techniques in clay work, pottery, sculpture, and glaze application. The successful candidate will possess expertise in a broad range of ceramic processes, from wheel throwing to hand-building and firing techniques, while creating a supportive, innovative, and engaging learning environment for students of all skill levels.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ceramics tutoring and supervises all ceramics class;
- Plans and instructs special technique classes;
- Design ceramic classes;
- Plan exhibitions and events including artist workshop;
- Kiln loading and unloading, and firing of ceramic pieces;
- Design and produce AIA ceramic products for retail purposes;
- Sets up, cleans, and demonstrates the use of equipment and instruments;
- Maintains inventories, orders supply in accordance with purchasing procedures;
- Monitors safety and security of work area, equipment, supplies, and materials;
- Maintains cleanliness of work area;
- Any other assigned ad-hoc duties.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS:
- Minimum 3-years’ experience with ceramics teaching or equivalent.
- Advance knowledge of ceramics (Throwing, Trimming, Glazing, Slip Casting, Recycling Clay).
- Candidates with at least a diploma or degree in 3D art-related qualifications, especially pottery.
- Able to make sake set and teapot set.
- Experience in Raku Firing and Wood Firing will be an advantage.
- Possess leadership skills, responsible and well-organized individual.
- Good communication skills and enjoy interacting with customers.
- Willing to work weekends and public holidays.
- Meticulous, good organizational and documentation skills.
KEY DELIVERABLES:
- Deliver 100% of scheduled classes, ensuring engagement, comprehensive coverage of ceramic techniques, and consistent evaluation of student progress.
- Achieve a minimum of 80% student retentionrate in ceramics courses, indicating satisfaction and continued enrollment.
- Provide timely and constructive feedback on student projects within two weeks of submission, ensuring students have opportunities to improve and refine their work.
