Overview
Think CNC is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Senior CNC Service Technician with 4+ years experience to join our growing team. This is a remote, field-based position for a professional with extensive experience troubleshooting and servicing FANUC-controlled CNC equipment in industrial manufacturing environments.
The ideal candidate is a self-driven problem solver who is comfortable working independently in the field, supporting customers directly, and mentoring junior technicians and future personnel. This role requires strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting abilities, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to delivering exceptional technical support.
Responsibilities
· Diagnose and repair CNC machinery equipped with FANUC controls
- Troubleshoot complex mechanical, electrical, servo, spindle, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues
- Service and repair:
- Linear rail systems
- Ball-screw assemblies
- Spindle assemblies
- Axis drive components
- Perform precision mechanical alignments and machine geometry inspections
- Perform onsite service, maintenance, installations, and emergency repairs
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, ladder logic, and machine documentation
- Support customers remotely by phone, email, and video troubleshooting
- Train and mentor junior technicians and future service personnel
- Document service activity, repairs, and recommendations accurately
- Work independently in field environments with minimal supervision
- Maintain a professional and customer-focused attitude during all service interactions
- Travel to customer sites as required
Skills
- Extensive experience in industrial maintenance and repair of CNC machinery.
- Strong electrical background with knowledge of low-voltage systems, sensors, and electrical schematics.
- Proficiency with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and automation controls.
- Mechanical knowledge related to manufacturing equipment and machinery components.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD for schematic review or modifications.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and wiring diagrams accurately.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills with a focus on precision diagnostics in complex systems.
- Customer service orientation with effective communication skills for working directly with clients.
- Experience working with manufacturing environments and understanding industry standards. This role is integral to maintaining the efficiency of our clients' manufacturing operations through expert technical support of CNC systems. The ideal candidate will combine technical expertise with strong customer service skills to ensure high levels of client satisfaction while maintaining operational excellence in the field.
Pay: $60.00-$80.00 per hour
