About the role
In this key role, you will play a vital part of driving advanced data analysis and Generative AI solutions within our Channels and Self-Service cluster. You will contribute to the organisation’s vision by supporting AI-powered customer solutions and leading key technical initiatives.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and implement data science strategies for Generative AI initiatives within Corporate Channels, ensuring solutions are scalable, secure, and aligned with compliance requirements.
• Fine-tune and customise pre-trained Generative AI models to meet Danske Bank’s specific objectives, leveraging techniques such as embeddings, prompt engineering, and vector databases to optimise performance and usability.
• Partner with engineers and product teams to integrate Generative AI capabilities into existing systems, enabling innovative solutions with measurable business impact.
• Continuously assess and improve AI solutions by identifying biases, addressing data quality challenges, and refining model outputs to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and ethical compliance.
• Identifying and mitigating risks, ensuring the delivery of accurate, efficient, and scalable data-driven solutions.
• Analysing complex datasets to uncover insights that inform business decisions and enhance customer experiences.
• Design and manage frameworks for experiment tracking, model evaluation, and governed model promotion using tools like MLflow, ensuring robust test sets and benchmarks across Generative AI and classical ML use cases.
• Staying up to date with emerging technologies, trends, and best practices in Generative AI, machine learning, and data science, driving innovation across the organisation.

Who are we looking for?
We are looking for an experienced, forward-thinking and collaborative Senior Data Scientist with a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field, and at least 7–8 years of experience in data science, machine learning, and AI solution development. Demonstrated success in creating innovative AI-driven solutions within intricate organisational structures is essential.

Your qualifications include:

• Expertise in Generative AI, with knowledge of machine learning, deep learning, and data modelling techniques. Familiarity with natural language processing (NLP) is preferred.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud Platform, including AI/ML tools and services.
• Knowledge of Generative AI technologies, including GenAI model APIs, embeddings, vector databases, and prompt engineering techniques. Familiarity with agentic systems would be valuable.
• Strong programming skills in Python, R, or similar languages, with experience using libraries and frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or scikit-learn.
• Proficiency in data visualisation tools and techniques to communicate insights effectively to stakeholders.

Additional experience in the following areas will be helpful:

• Designing and implementing large-scale AI/ML systems in regulated industries.
• Building relationships in the AI/ML community and representing organisations in external forums or conferences.
• Developing and deploying AI-based co-pilot or chat systems.
