Role Overview:
We are seeking a talented and versatile Data Scientist to join our growing team. This is a unique opportunity to be the first Data Scientist at CoolPlanet, playing a pivotal role in shaping our data science landscape and driving innovation across the company.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and deploy predictive machine learning and time series forecasting models.
• Conduct exploratory data analysis to uncover insights and identify opportunities for new models (Anomaly detection, Deep Learning etc.)
• Collaborate on building and refining our ML infrastructure, with a focus on AWS SageMaker, Bedrock and other cloud technologies.
• Utilise ML Engineering skills, including working with Docker, implementing CI/CD pipelines with Jenkins, and infrastructure-as-code tools such as AWS CDK
• Contribute to the development and evaluation of generative AI solutions, guiding the selection and integration of Large Language Models as well as building out the system evaluation approach.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams, bringing a solutions-oriented, collaborative, and innovative mindset to the table.

Key Skills and Qualifications:

• Proficiency in Python and commonly used data science libraries, such as NumPy, pandas, scikit-learn, and matplotlib. Experience in libraries like TensorFlow or PyTorch are a plus.
• Experience with MLOps and ML engineering, including Docker and CI/CD practices.
• Strong data visualisation skills with the ability to communicate complex analyses clearly through effective visual storytelling and dashboarding, tailored to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Proficiency in SQL and experience with databases.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and a solid mathematical foundation.

Bonus

• Comfortable working with AWS services and cloud-native patterns, including serverless functions, asynchronous workflows, and event-driven architectures.
• Experience with data engineering workflows and real-time data streaming technologies such as Kafka, along with a solid understanding of building scalable, robust data pipelines.

Location: Our office is based in Powerscourt House, Co. Wicklow. We offer a hybrid working model with the opportunity to work flexibly.
