Job description
As a Senior Engineer, you will take technical and operational ownership of complex weighing projects, from design to commissioning. This is a key hands-on role involving everything from system design and documentation to equipment assembly, FAT/SAT, and on-site commissioning.
You will supervise and support a small team of engineers and technicians, ensuring the quality and timely delivery of solutions that meet customer expectations. You'll also work on the development of a Force Calibration Unit (FCU) system, a major innovation project for our business.
Close collaboration with the Projects Manager, Software Team, and Senior Management is central to this role, along with frequent interaction with customers.

We design, manufacture, install, and maintain precision weighing equipment and systems used across industries such as Food and agriculture, manufacturing, waste management, construction, and pharmaceuticals.
As our business continues to grow, we are looking for a skilled and dedicated Senior Engineer to join our Engineering Department — taking a lead role in delivering complex customer projects.

Responsibilities:
- Designing, building, and testing weighing systems as part of the Projects Team
- Team supervisor, guiding workshop engineers/technicians and coordinating tasks
- Quality controller, ensuring all systems meet the engineering, safety, and compliance standards of Precia Molen.
- Design and develop electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, control panel layouts, and single-line diagrams for industrial systems, including driver-operated and weighbridge solutions.
- Create detailed electrical drawings using AutoCAD (or similar software) in compliance with company and industry standards.
- Take technical and operational ownership of complex weighing and driver-operated system projects, from design to commissioning.
Requirements:
- Third-level qualification in Electrical Engineering or Mechatronics Engineering (minimum level 8)
- 3+ years of previous experience in a similar role is essential
- Full driver's licenses
- Eligible to work in Ireland
- Ability to manage, prioritize, and successfully execute multiple concurrent projects
- Knowledge of construction techniques and terminology, including the ability to read and interpret schematics, construction drawings, and documents
- Understanding of industrial control panels
- Design and implementation of low-voltage systems
- IT/networking skills (IP addressing, device configuration)
- AutoCAD/SolidWorks – Electrical drawings
- Ability to work in a team - Working with service engineers, software developers, and project managers
Preferred:
- Previous project management experience
- Background in the weighing industry
- Integration with weighbridge indicators and peripherals
Location: The role will be based in the Precia Molen offices located in Clane, Co. Kildare, with a schedule of Monday to Friday, 8:30 am – 5:30 pm. Site work is also required on occasion.
