About the Company
Clandillon Civil Consulting (CCC) is an Irish civil engineering consultancy that, through its work with many of Ireland’s biggest civil engineering contractors, has been involved in some of Ireland’s largest infrastructure projects including the N17N18 Gort to Tuam Motorway, Luas Cross City, N4 Collooney to Castlebaldwin, N8 Dunkettle Interchange and most recently, the Bus Connects - Liffey Valley to City Centre scheme.
Due to growth within the team, CCC is now looking to recruit a Senior Environmental Engineer/Scientist who will be based in either our Naas or Cork office. The successful candidate will work on various transport, travel and water-based projects. Duties will include assessment of environmental constraints and impacts and the production of associated reports.
Senior Environmental Engineer/Scientist - The Role
- Carry out environmental desk-top assessments.
- Carry out site walkovers to determine environmental constraints.
- Supervise the work of environmental sub-consultants employed by CCC.
- Coordination and development of Environmental Screening Reports.
- Coordination and development of Environmental Impact Assessment Reports and Strategic Environmental Assessments.
- Undertake consultations with statutory bodies.
- Supervise construction works in environmentally sensitive areas.
- Engage with team of engineers and other environmental specialists; and
- Any other duties, as deemed necessary, that fall within the remit and level of the position.
What You Need – The Skills and Competencies
- 3 to 5 years’ experience working in a similar role including experience in carrying out environmental assessments and drafting environmental screening/EIA reports.
- A sound understanding of the legislation which relates to environmental reporting.
- Master’s degree in environmental science, Environmental Engineering or equivalent.
- Passionate about environmental science and the role of environmental engineer.
- Excellent report writing skills.
- Team player with the ability to work on own initiative as required.
- Current and continuing right to work in the Republic of Ireland.
- Willing to actively participate in Continuing Professional Development (CPD).
