The Opportunity:

The Senior Facility Management Engineer is responsible for overseeing the planning, operation, maintenance, and optimization of facility systems and services, ensuring that all building operations run efficiently and in compliance with regulations. This role involves supervising facility management teams, developing strategies for improving the sustainability and performance of facilities, and handling technical problem-solving for a variety of mechanical, electrical, and structural systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Facility Operations Management:
    • Oversee the day-to-day operations and maintenance of building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire safety, and security.
    • Manage and coordinate the preventive maintenance program for all facility equipment.
    • Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and building codes/regulations.
    • Develop long-term plans for the enhancement of facilities and systems in alignment with business goals.

  • Project Management:
    • Lead or assist facility-related projects, including renovations, expansions, or upgrades, ensuring completion on time and within budget.
    • Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and internal teams to execute facility projects.
    • Prepare project scopes, budgets, schedules, and risk assessments.

  • Sustainability & Energy Management:
    • Identify and implement energy-saving initiatives to reduce operational costs and environmental impact.
    • Track energy usage and recommend strategies for more efficient consumption.
    • Stay up to date with sustainable practices and new technologies for facilities management.

  • Technical Support & Problem Solving:
    • Provide expert advice and troubleshooting support on complex facility systems.
    • Address emergency maintenance issues as they arise and minimize disruptions to building operations.

  • Documentation & Reporting:
    • Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs, and system performance.
    • Prepare regular reports on facility status, performance metrics, and project updates for management.

Requirements:

  • Diploma or bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in facility management or engineering.
  • Strong knowledge of building systems, operations, and engineering practices.
  • Familiarity with relevant building codes, health and safety regulations, and environmental standards.
  • Proficiency in using facility management software (e.g., CAFM, CMMS, etc.) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Weekend support for facility maintenance or project implementation works is require.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and work under pressure.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
  • On-call for emergencies or overseeing work during non-standard hours
