We are a new home-interiors studio opening in Pondicherry as a HomeLane Studio Partner. Backed by Lakshmi Associates, an established Pondicherry-based business, we are hiring our founding Senior Design Consultant — the most important hire we will make this year.

About the role

This is a founding designer role, not a designer-in-a-team role. You will own customer relationships from the first showroom meeting all the way to design finalisation and order booking. You will use HomeLane's SpaceCraft 3D design platform (full training provided), set the design culture of the studio, and within 6–9 months you will likely have a junior designer reporting to you.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead designer for all customers — first meeting to design close to order booking
• Run customer consultations: understand lifestyle, budget, and unspoken priorities; translate them into a design the customer falls in love with
• Use HomeLane SpaceCraft 3D platform for real-time design and transparent locked pricing
• Drive sales conversion — close projects, defend designs and pricing through customer negotiations
• Hand over cleanly to the project execution team with detailed production drawings and site instructions
• Mentor a junior designer (hire planned for month 3–4) on designs and customer conversations
• Help shape studio operations, design process, and customer journey from day one

Required Qualifications

• 3–6 years of experience as an Interior Designer or Design Consultant
• Diploma or Degree in Interior Design or Architecture from a recognised institution
• Strong residential project experience (mandatory)
• Working knowledge of SketchUp; comfortable learning new design tools (SpaceCraft training provided)
• Site experience — understanding what is installable and how to design for site reality
• Sales comfort—ability to defend a design and pricing, close a customer professionally
• Communication: English & Tamil mandatory; Hindi and other regional languages are a strong advantage
• Customer-first instinct: balancing function, aesthetics, and budget in every design

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience at HomeLane, Livspace, Asian Paints' Beautiful Homes, Hometown, or similar branded modular interiors brand
• Hands-on experience using HomeLane SpaceCraft platform
• Pondicherry or Tamil Nadu home base

Pay: ₹400,000.00 - ₹600,000.00 per year
