We are now looking for a Senior Manager, Communications for UPM Plywood to lead external communications and shape the future communications strategies for WISA Group Plc, a publicly listed company to be established through partial demerger of UPM-Kymmene Corporation.

What you will do

In this role, you will manage the company-level narrative to support business strategy. You will also manage financial and regulatory communications and drive proactive media engagement and PR initiatives to strengthen our public reputation and perception.

In addition, you will:

• Own the cross-channel editorial governance and ensure the consistency of external communications in compliance with regulatory requirements
• Manage communication on financial results and execute public announcements and company-level event communications
• Drive proactive media relations and build relationships with national and trade media to secure accurate and impactful media coverage
• Act as the first point of contact for media inquiries, coordinate interviews and help ensure senior spokespersons are prepared and available when needed
• Manage crisis communications and develop training and guidelines in close cooperation with business leadership and the OHS network
• Set and track communications KPIs, apply data-driven insights to optimize outcomes, including media coverage
• Manage resources and the annual budget against strategic targets and coordinate external agency performance

Who you are

• You have a master’s degree in communications, journalism, PR or another relevant field, and at least five years of experience in a senior communications position, including media relations and PR, preferably in a publicly listed company
• You have strong expertise in strategic corporate communications and a proven track record of delivering impactful communications with measurable results
• You have strong command of corporate disclosure processes and ESG communications requirements, ideally in a listed-company environment
• You speak and write at an advanced level in English and Finnish and can provide professional support in editing and proofreading
• You take initiative and work proactively, driving action at both strategic and hands-on operational levels
• You are comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and can prioritize effectively, adapt to changing situations and deliver high-quality results within agreed timelines
• You are comfortable working with senior executives, collaborating across the organization and building relationships with external stakeholders
• You are available to manage media or crisis communications activities outside regular office hours when needed

The position holder will report to the Vice President of Marketing, Sustainability and Communications function in Plywood business.
