Odyssey House NSW’s trauma-informed services set us apart as a leader in the support service space for alcohol and other drugs dependency. Our teams help clients to meet their goals and address underlying trauma and mental health issues, while also developing new skills to improve all aspects of their lives.
We provide a diverse range of services to individuals, families and community education. Our services include withdrawal services; one-on-one assessment and treatment by psychologists and counsellors; group therapy; residential rehabilitation; and free education at Odyssey College.

Description:
Financial
Oversee the month-end and year-end close process.
Prepare and review monthly management accounts and Board financial reports.
Maintain and continuously improve financial policies, procedures and internal controls.
Effectively manage cash flow including preparation of monthly cash flow reports and provide recommendations to DFC on liquidity requirements
Ensure integrity of financial statements and work collaboratively with auditors for annual report completion
Monitor organisational performance against budget and investigate significant variances.
Provide financial modelling and scenario analysis to support strategic decision making
Keep abreast of changes in accounting standard requirements and communicate changes to Board and Executive team
Preparation and review of funding acquittals as required
Provide financial assistance on projects to internal teams including preparation of business cases to CEO and Board
Prepare financial tenders for review by the project team and Executive team
Be proactively involved in business planning, expense and capital budgeting and forecasting
Establish positive rapport with internal and external customers by providing accurate and timely information and advice to the relevant internal stakeholders
Manage procurement and accounts payable ensuring compliance with delegation authorities
Leadership
Lead, mentor and develop the Finance team which includes the Resident Welfare Support[CT1] Officer.
Drive continuous improvement within finance processes and systems.
Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration and customer service.
Policy Generation and Review
Establish and maintain all Finance, Information Technology and other required policies and procedures and internal controls.
Information Technology
Control and ensure maintenance of IT registers
Administer IT issues ensuring compliance with policies

Skills and Experiences:
CA/CPA Qualified with a Bachelor degree in a relevant field
Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills including the ability to provide advice and recommendations.
At least five years relevant experience with at least three years managing a Team
Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines
Current NSW Drivers License
Current National Police check (< 1 yr old)
Working with Children clearance for paid employment
Right to Live and work in Australia
COVID Vaccinated
Fulfil other duties as required by Management
