Senior Product Engineer - Product Line - Parts & Services job opportunity

Within our Parts & Services Division (part of Business Area Mining), our mission is to keep our equipment running to its full potential. We are responsible for the aftermarket business worldwide, developing tailored offerings and services to support our customers throughout the equipment lifecycle and deliver competitive and consistent service for Sandvik equipment. Our customer base ranges from large multinational mining and infrastructure companies and contractors to small and medium-sized enterprises, all of whom rely on our equipment.

Our exciting opportunity

We are now recruiting for a Senior Product Engineer within our Product Line team in the Parts & Services Division. The Division drives the aftermarket business keeping customers’ fleet on track with services, solutions and parts.

As the Senior Product Engineer, you will develop and execute technical proposals for custom engineering work to Sandvik equipment to align with equipment specifications and design. The position is located in Turku (Runosmäki), Finland.

Your main responsibilities

Analyze complex upgrades requests requiring the development of new or improved techniques or procedures
Complete pre-studies for technical upgrades proposals and prepare clear and definitive technical proposals in accordance with defined scopes of supply, specifications, codes and internal standards
Study/codify requirements for the engineering bill of material according to component and machine specifications, options and types
Develop suitable, relevant and accurate documentation to accompany the completed upgrade
Support Sales Areas for retrofit kit assembly, technical and quality issues and collect feedback
Support Parts & Services Product Line Portfolios technical solution development
Manage technical queries relating to the upgrade design across a broad range of engineering skills including process, electrical, instrument, acoustic, structural, insulation and control.
Ensure design integrity of the upgrade
Responsible for on-time delivery and quality of upgrades packages

Your profile

A Product Engineer who understands customer applications and technical needs to propose solutions and estimate parts and time needed. You have a university degree (Bachelor or Masters) in an engineering related field. You have at least couple of years’ experience with engineering design, support, documentation and services on mobile industrial equipment and you are experienced at working with heavy engineering industry projects according to customer specification. You are proficient with Engineering design tools including design drafting & 3D modelling. You are flexible, self-motivated and an excellent communicator. As we operate in an international setting, you need to be fluent in English, both verbally and in writing.

You are an innovative problem solver, and you have the ability to collaborate with equipment design teams and sales area service teams to achieve a working solution to problems and/or design issues. You have high level knowledge of product applications. You have strong cross functional stakeholder and project management skills and well-developed time management skills.
