Job Description
The Project
The Eastern Busway is a significant project that is about more than just better transport. It will increase access to jobs and education, connect people to social and community opportunities, attract investment and growth, enable urban development, and help reduce emissions.
Its efficient services will give nearby communities some great options for cycling, walking or using the bus, and it will be a vital part of the public transport network in Tāmaki Makaurau for decades to come.

The Opportunity
The Senior Project Engineer supports the Construction Manager in achieving safe, timely, and high-quality project completion within budget. Reporting to the Construction Manager, you will oversee project planning, execution, and closure, ensuring contractual profitability and obligations are met.
You will provide technical, administrative, and HSEQS support to Supervisors, fostering collaboration with internal and external resources to meet project objectives.
Key tasks and duties to be performed:
  • Plans, reviews and monitoring the delivery and engineering aspects of the designated Zone within the project works ensuring an optimal solution developed for the construction phase (PAA).
  • Responsible for monitor and report against the budgets and forecasts for their engineering discipline within the Zone, providing support to the Zone Lead
  • Lead and manage direct reports including Project and Site Engineers to achieve the outcomes as per above, in accordance with Alliance values.
  • Ensures that performance targets under their control are met, together with maintaining the required high standard of safety and quality.
Required Skills and Competencies
  • Minimum 6 years of Construction and Engineering experience, with Civil experience
  • Experience in a large construction/multi project environment and/or Alliances and Joint Ventures preferred.
  • Identify and assess risk to the project as well as implementation of strategies to mitigate risk
  • Use your technical skills to resolve design challenges and identify value engineering opportunities
  • Cost and forecast control to assist the project managers with strategic planning
  • Demonstrated experience in a site based leadership role
