Description:
Role Purpose and Objectives

Lead and manage the design development, consultant management and land negotiation functions for the Numurkah Levee Stage 2 project, applying professional project management expertise and independent judgement to progress the project from concept design through to construction-ready status, within approved scope, program, budget and governance requirements.
The role also chairs the Numurkah Levee Community Committee and leads negotiations with landowners and residents both within and adjacent to the levee footprint, including easement negotiations and, where required, compulsory acquisition processes, to ensure the project achieves its flood protection objectives while maintaining strong community relationships and Council's reputation.

Skills and Experiences:

You must include a cover letter.

Tertiary qualifications in civil engineering, project management, construction management or a related field, or substantial relevant experience.
Substantial experience managing the design and delivery of civil or flood mitigation infrastructure projects in a complex stakeholder environment.
Advanced knowledge of civil infrastructure design standards, project development and capital planning.
Demonstrated ability to analyse complex issues, develop evidence-based options and provide authoritative specialist advice to senior management and Council.
Highly developed project, consultant, budget, risk and procurement management skills, with experience progressing projects to construction-ready status.
Highly developed consultation, facilitation, negotiation and written communication skills, including experience chairing committees and negotiating land or property matters.
Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities and deliver high-quality strategic and design outputs within approved scope, time and budget.
