Senior Quantity Surveyor – Galway/Athlone

Due to continued growth, OCC Construction are seeking to appoint a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our team in Galway/Athlone, offering excellent opportunities for career progression and development.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced QS to join a progressive, forward-thinking contractor delivering high-quality projects across the West of Ireland.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead cost control, commercial reporting, and financial oversight across projects
  • Manage contract documentation (PWC, RIAI), subcontractor packages, and valuations
  • Evaluate and negotiate subcontractor tenders, variations, and final accounts
  • Lead procurement activities and supplier negotiations
  • Deliver monthly cost reporting and commercial performance analysis
  • Ensure commercial compliance with company systems and standards
  • Collaborate with site teams to align budgets with delivery programmes
  • Mentor and support junior surveyors as part of the commercial team

Requirements:

  • Degree qualified Quantity Surveyor
  • 5+ years’ experience in a QS role, ideally with a main contractor
  • Strong experience in commercial management, cost control, and contract administration (PWC, RIAI)
  • Proven track record managing subcontractor accounts and procurement processes
  • Good knowledge of Irish construction regulations and best practice
  • Proficient in Excel; experience with Cubit, Procore or similar systems an advantage
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and leadership skills
  • Full clean driving licence
