Opportunity Overview

TechStar Ireland is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Retail Repair Technician to join our team in Ballincollig, Cork. This is a crucial, full-time role that blends expert-level device repair with front-line retail responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

1. Technical Repair & Diagnostics

  • Expertly diagnose and perform hardware and software repairs on a wide range of devices, including mobile phones, tablets, laptops, and desktops.
  • Core repair tasks include screen/battery replacements, data recovery, and complex software troubleshooting.
  • Execute basic soldering for component replacement (e.g., charge ports).
  • Ability to perform motherboard-level component repair is highly beneficial.
  • Ensure all repairs meet the highest quality standards and turnaround times.

2. Retail Operations & Customer Management

  • Provide excellent customer diagnostics and consultation, clearly explaining faults, repair options, and timelines.
  • Accurately quote repairs and manage the full cycle of part orders, including inventory tracking and management.
  • Handle store opening and closing procedures, managing the till, and reconciling daily sales.
  • Drive sales by cross-selling accessories and relevant services to enhance the customer experience.
  • Maintain a clean, organised, and professional workspace and retail area.
  • Achieve all assigned Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) related to repair efficiency, sales, and customer satisfaction.

Essential Requirements

  • Experience: Minimum 2-3 years of professional experience in a similar device repair and retail environment.
  • Technical Proficiency: Proven expertise in diagnosing and repairing hardware and software faults across Android and iOS mobile devices, as well as various laptop and desktop operating systems.
  • Customer Focus: Excellent customer service and communication skills with the ability to confidently convey technical information to non-technical customers.
  • Independence: Proven ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and take full responsibility for store operations.
  • Attributes: Strong problem-solving skills under pressure, high level of reliability, and punctuality.
  • Language: Full professional proficiency in English is required.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: €32,000.00-€35,000.00 per year
