Role Profile

The Senior Risk and Compliance Analyst will be responsible for handling primarily LLI data, identifying trends, patterns and anomalies within that data and creating content that communicates meaningful insights and intelligence to help clients make better decisions.


This role will be a manager and team leader for other risk and compliance analysts within the Lloyd’s List Intelligence editorial team.


The role holder will be an expert on the data and analytics capabilities of Lloyd’s List Intelligence products and services and able to communicate the advantages of these products in commercial and editorial capacities.


This is a full-time permanent role reporting to the VP – Editorial. This role is permanent and offers balanced working with 2-3 days a week in our London, New York or Singapore office.


Key Responsibilities

  • Utilise primarily LLI data and your own subject matter knowledge to create authoritative, data-led analysis across a variety of forms for publication on Lloyd’s List and for use in client meetings, panel discussions, white papers, podcasts and more.
  • Manage a team of analysts, leveraging your subject matter expertise to help guide and improve risk & compliance content, identify data sets to add value to insight and analysis and pass on your knowledge where applicable.
  • Work with the Lloyd’s List editor-in-chief on weekly, monthly and annual analysis content, long form reports and commentary across a variety of media as well as utilising your expertise to enhance the knowledge of the editorial team
  • Create and maintain Vessel Risk Lists
  • Deliver direct client presentations to Lloyd’s List enterprise subscribers
  • Work cross-functionally with colleagues to improve Lloyd’s List Intelligence products and services
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key industry stakeholders.

What we are looking for:

Essential

  • At least 2 years of experience in sanctions advisory, investigations, or governance work.
  • Investigative research experience with a focus on sanctions compliance; familiarity with Seasearcher or other maritime databases is a plus.
  • Experience presenting information and expert insights to audiences either online or in-person
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail with the ability to prioritise tasks daily and meet tight deadlines.
  • High proficiency in written and verbal English.
  • A team player who can work collaboratively across the organisation.
  • Proficiency in MS office suite including Word, PowerPoint and Excel.

Desirable

  • Knowledge of content management systems such as Sitecore and data visualisation tools such as Infogram
  • Familiarity with Seasearcher or other maritime databases
  • Experience working for a global company
  • Proficiency in an additional language
