Summary

Corca Health Ltd is seeking an exceptional Senior Software Engineer to play a key role in building and scaling the company's AI-powered healthcare platform focused on mental health and neurodevelopmental assessment.

Working directly with the CTO and wider multidisciplinary team, the successful candidate will take ownership of delivering robust, secure, and scalable software systems across the full technology stack. This role is ideally suited to a highly capable engineer who enjoys solving complex technical problems, takes pride in shipping high-quality software, and thrives in a fast-paced startup environment.

The successful candidate will work closely with experienced AI researchers, clinicians, and product specialists to translate cutting-edge research into production-ready healthcare technology that can positively impact patient outcomes at scale.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

Full-Stack Software Development

• Design, develop, test, and maintain software across frontend, backend, and cloud infrastructure environments.
• Build and maintain scalable web applications and internal platforms.
• Develop APIs, microservices, and integrations supporting AI-driven healthcare products.
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code following software engineering best practices.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to continuous improvement of engineering standards.

Cloud Infrastructure & DevOps

• Design, deploy, and maintain cloud-native infrastructure
• Manage containerised applications using Docker and Kubernetes.
• Implement CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment workflows.
• Monitor system performance, reliability, and operational health.
• Support infrastructure scalability as the company grows.

Security, Compliance & Data Governance

• Implement cybersecurity best practices throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Support secure handling of sensitive healthcare and clinical data.
• Contribute to data governance processes ensuring compliance with GDPR and applicable healthcare regulations.
• Assist in implementing security controls, monitoring, auditing, and incident response procedures.
• Work closely with quality and regulatory teams to ensure software systems meet applicable compliance requirements.

AI Platform & Product Development

• Collaborate closely with the CTO and team to integrate machine learning models into production systems.
• Develop infrastructure supporting AI model deployment, monitoring, and lifecycle management.
• Assist with implementation of AI-enabled product features and services.
• Support evaluation and adoption of modern engineering tools, including agentic coding and AI-assisted development workflows.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Work closely with clinicians, researchers, quality specialists, and product stakeholders.
• Translate technical concepts into clear explanations for non-technical colleagues.
• Contribute to technical planning, architecture discussions, and product roadmap activities.
• Support a collaborative and high-performance engineering culture.

Essential Criteria

• Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• 5+ years' experience in software engineering or full-stack development roles.
• Strong experience building and maintaining production web applications.
• Proficiency in modern backend development frameworks and API design.
• Strong frontend development experience using modern web technologies.
• Experience deploying and managing cloud infrastructure.
• Experience with containerisation technologies such as Docker.
• Experience working with Kubernetes in production environments.
• Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines and modern DevOps practices.
• Understanding of cybersecurity principles and secure software development.
• Experience with data governance, privacy, and secure data management.
• Experience using modern AI-assisted and agentic coding tools.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and deliver high-quality solutions in a fast-paced startup environment.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to engineering excellence.

Desirable Criteria

• Experience working in healthcare, medical devices, or regulated industries.
• Familiarity with Software as a Medical Device (SaMD) development environments.
• Experience with machine learning deployment and MLOps workflows.
• Experience developing AI-powered products.
• Knowledge of reinforcement learning algorithms.
• Experience training and deploying deep learning models.
• Experience working with neural networks and modern AI architectures.
• Experience using PyTorch, Flax, or similar machine learning frameworks.
• Familiarity with vector databases, LLMs, and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) systems.
• Experience supporting software compliance activities in regulated environments.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience mentoring junior engineers.
• Experience working in high-growth startup environments.
