Job Title: Senior Software Engineer - Cloud

Location: Bangalore (Hybrid)

PSU Technology group in CBA is responsible for the world class payment service and experience to customer with leading application of technology and operations across every aspect. We also use technology to drive efficient and timely processing, an essential component of great customer service.

Our team is composed of engineers and technology leaders, who bring in the right mix of skills to enable this transformation. We also work very closely with our business and operations colleagues to support these services which are critical to the Australian and Global economy.

Our team is also responsible in driving Engineering Governance, Continuous Delivery and key technological simplification.

Impact & Contribution:

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be part of the Environments and Cloud Chapter. The team is led by the Senior Engineering Manager who is accountable for the Environment Support and Cloud Management capabilities that support the Merchants and Retail Payments functions at CBA. The team works to deliver exceptional outcomes for our business stakeholders and customers.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Guide and mentor the Environment Engineers for Financial Simulators and non-prod environment support.
  • Investigate and fix the basic mainframe non-prod environment issues (i.e. Connex and CTS).
  • Escalate the E2E environment and infrastructure issues raised by the squads and external Merchants.
  • Manage the license and version upgrade of simulators.
  • Manage BAU activities of simulators such as FINSIM, BPSIM/EFTSIM, Real Links, MasterCard simulator, VISA simulator and UPI simulator.
  • Driving automation through understanding processes and implementing improvements.
  • Develop re-useable solutions in line with the latest software and hardware trends.
  • Support Cloud deployments in non-prod environments.
  • Perform complex problem resolution, root cause analysis and identification of improvement opportunities.
  • Participate in key initiatives from the Technology team to improve capability, standards, and risk profile of the platform.

Essential Skills:

  • Need 8+years of relevant experience
  • We use a broad range of tools, languages, and frameworks. We don’t expect you to know them all but experience or exposure with some of these (or equivalents) will set you up for success in this team.
  • AWS Cloud Certification (associate +).
  • Mid-level experience of development in Python, .NET or Java.
  • Monitoring tools such as AppDynamics, Obstack and PagerDuty.
  • VMware solutions with specific interests in AVI load balancing or Horizon VDI.
  • Leading a cross-functional squad in developing and operating technical products and services.
  • Experience working with large and complex programmes of work.
  • Understanding of DevOps/SRE Best Practices: Logging, Monitoring, Security.
  • Experience as Software Engineer/ DevOps / SRE / System Engineer in on prem and Cloud environments.
  • Familiarity with project management tools such as Jira, Confluence and ServiceNow.
  • Good communication skills (written and verbal).

Education Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree/master’s degree in engineering in Computer Science/Information Technology
