Senior Software Engineering - Routing

What you’ll do:

About the Role

• Responsible for the design and development of routing features for Layer 3 protocols, including BGP, OSPF, Multicast, etc.
• Innovate and develop next-gen SD-WAN routing protocol deployment use cases.
• Solve complex customer related networking problems

You will be working 2-3 days per week at our offices in Bangalore.

Responsibilities

• Drive development from technology selection to product delivery, collaborating with product managers and product designers to give our users the best possible experience
• Identify and improve the efficiency, scalability, operability of the product
• Lead and participate in design and code reviews
• Use AI-assisted development tools productively in day-to-day engineering work, including coding assistance, test acceleration, and developer productivity workflows.

What you need to bring:

• B.S or M.S. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field
• 6-10 years of experience in software development and testing
• Thorough understanding of IP networking and socket-based programming
• Excellent C++ developer and debugging skills
• Strong knowledge of routing concepts and protocols (BGP, OSPFv2, OSPFv3, PIM)
• Familiarity with FRR (Free Range Routing)/Quagga and/or comparable routing stacks
• Working experience with C++11/14 or python
• Thorough knowledge of multi-threaded and distributed systems
• Strong background in developing networking software applications on Linux/Unix
• Ability to deliver clean, modular code quickly and efficiently
• Own solutions end-to-end and driving the design, development, and deployment process
• Computer Science fundamentals in object-oriented design, problem solving, and complexity analysis
• Experience developing on Linux operating systems
• Strong communication skills, both in written and verbal, to effectively understand and convey issues and solutions to peers and end users.
• Experience supporting networking software solutions in customer production environments is a must.
• Experience with Agile development process
• Experience with Test-Driven Development and Continuous Integration
