We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Solution Architect to join our Technology team and shape the future of our systems within Ireland.

You will be a leader in strategy and innovation in the evaluation of existing systems and technologies and development of strategic solutions and roadmaps to solve stated business challenges. The Senior Solutions Architect must understand the business and be able to dive deeply into technology issues to ensure that technology decisions and roadmaps are aligned with strategic business plans.

Senior Solutions Architect reports to the Head of Technology Delivery in Ireland and is a key member of the local Technology team.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the architectural development of business aligned strategies and roadmaps which will evolve into high profile, large scale complex projects and programmes

• Responsibility for resolving complex and technically challenging issues associated with the technology stack to provide appropriate solutions to meet the business need

• Drive the creation of the technology components of business strategies and relevant business area investment plans

• Support business investment planning via strategy and roadmap creation, providing proposals for technology-led innovation and technical dependency guidance

• Provide design continuity and consistency in all major solution decisions. Providing governance to ensure that all new capabilities and services remain aligned with strategic business plans and IT Strategy, architecture roadmaps, policy and standards at all times

• Align technology strategies and roadmaps with business requirements, organisation and industry standards, and support the process of breaking these down in to high-level technical projects and programmes as required

• Ensure compliance of all high-level business aligned strategies and roadmaps to the IT Strategy, architecture principles and all applicable standards

• Maximise the value of our technology investment, promote cost saving, where possible, and create roadmaps and target architectures

• Promote and encourage innovation throughout the team, to look for new answers and delivery of fresh approaches

• Liaise with strategic vendors to keep abreast of their technical roadmaps and to identify innovations or emerging technologies that could benefit Bord Gais Energy

• Identify opportunities for research and development, incubating ideas and proof-of-concepts aligned to disruptive technologies that offer potential for our organisation

• Work closely with Centrica Group Enterprise Architecture team to ensure consistency across all architecture decisions

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

• Deep expertise around industry best practices in various aspects of IT, technology trends, enterprise operations knowledge and the ability to develop solutions to implement key business strategies

• Extensive experience as a Solutions Architect in an IT Consulting or Systems Integrator context or similar experience across several different industry verticals

• Prior experience of the Utilities, Telco or Retail industries is highly desirable

• Prior experience of Salesforce and Cloud Architecture is highly essential

• Third level degree in IT or related subject
