Job Description


The Senior Spa Therapist is responsible for assisting the Spa Supervisor in overseeing the overall spa operations and services provided to the guest according to the service rules, policy, procedure, and etiquette, in line with our vision to uphold Raffles Spa as a true global luxury treatments and wellness provider.

Primary Responsibilities

Provide mentorship to Spa Therapists

  • Act as a role model for other Spa therapists, helping to mentor and train any new colleague.
  • Provide direct support to the Spa Supervisor, Wellness Manager or Director of Spa when required.
  • Provide a direct communication line with Spa Supervisor to ensure any customer care issues or breaches in company procedures are communicated.
  • Monitor and control stock levels, ensuring Spa Supervisor is aware when stock levels need replenishing.

Product quality & knowledge of work

  • Proficient in body/face care product(s) brand knowledge, body/face care expertise, knowledge of both professional and retail products
  • Well-versed in general anatomy and physiology/skin knowledge such as skin structure and common skin diseases.
  • Deliver outstanding and consistent body/face treatments in accordance with LQA/Forbes service standards
  • Capable of performing professional technical pre-consultation to allow suitable recommendation of treatments in accordance with prescribed protocols based on guests’ needs and concerns.
  • Proficient in providing clear and concise treatment introduction and product benefits to the guest.
  • Responsible for recording and updating guest’s profile such as post treatment analysis, product and treatment purchase/recommendation and any other relevant information, to ensure a personalized service and to maximize future retail opportunities.

Retail sales

  • Maintains a genuine relationship with guests based on care for their needs and concerns through effective home care advice after each treatment, recommendation and relevant retailing.
  • Able to encourage treatment add-ons and perform homecare product retail during post- treatment.

Training

  • Attends all training courses deemed as necessary, and adheres to training session as planned by the Spa Supervisor.
  • Fulfills all scheduled theory and practical training requirements.

General housekeeping & maintenance

  • Maintain all spa treatment rooms to the required Health and Safety standards.
  • Set treatment room professionally before and after each treatment, in accordance with prescribed treatment room setting, including required treatment equipment
  • Apply treatment room housekeeping/presentation checklist before and after each treatment.
  • Report any faults and visible defects that do not with luxury treatment room standards via the housekeeping/presentation checklist located in assigned treatment rooms to relevant team leader/manager.
  • Ensure towels and linens in the treatment room are adequately replenished for the day and stored as per Standard Operating Procedure.
  • Ensure the general cleanliness of the treatment room, facilities, pantry and public areas.
  • Performs any other duties and responsibilities that may be assigned.

Qualifications


Candidate Profile

Knowledge and Experience

  • Attained international certification such as CIBTAC, CIDESCO, ITEC, WSQ Diploma
  • Excellent guest service delivery
  • Knowledge of Anatomy & Physiology
  • Three to five years previous experience in a luxury spa environment.
  • Ability to pleasantly communicate with proper grammar in English.
  • Ability to provide legible communication
  • Knowledgeable of spa treatments and Products

  • Ability to recommend and promote spa products and services to guests.
  • Ability to give a timely spa Service, providing a true relaxation and beneficial experience to each guest.
  • Knowledge of draping procedures and protocol.
  • Ability to focus attention on guests needs, remaining calm and courteous.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of all guest information and pertinent hotel data.
  • Ability to perform job functions with minimal supervision.
