An exciting opportunity awaits the right candidate to join the Cobb New Zealand team based at our state of the art breeding poultry facility in the beautiful North Waikato. Cobb Genetics is a global leader in chicken genetics with facilities across the world. The New Zealand operation is strategically placed to provide high quality breeding chickens to customers in New Zealand, the Pacific and South East Asia.

Our facilities include a state of the art export approved hatchery, modern breeding and production units that allow our birds to be cared for, meeting the highest health and welfare standards, and an MPI approved transitional facility for hatching imported pure line eggs. The New Zealand operation has around 100 full time team members, many who have been with us since the farm was established seven years ago.

We are currently looking for a Veterinary and Biosecurity Advisor to join our team in NZ. Reporting to the Quality Assurance and Technical Manager, this role is key to providing veterinary support and ensuring compliance with all industry applicable regulatory requirements.

The role is extremely varied and includes both poultry veterinary responsibilities such as animal health visits and inspections to support export assurances, laboratory export sampling, involvement in training the farm team, internal and external audits and engagement with our Cobb global veterinary team. The Veterinary and Biosecurity Advisor will work closely with the farm and hatchery management team, as well as the export and planning manager and will become the primary point of contact for animal health related issues.

There is no on-call as such with this role although there will be occasions when afterhours or weekend work may be required.
