Based in Toulouse this is an exciting opportunity for an experienced hands-on buyer to take a challenging role at Evotec. The Senior Strategic Buyer is a key contributor to the local and regional procurement strategy, acting as a trusted business partner to laboratory and operational teams. The role ensures reliable, cost-effective, and sustainable sourcing while maintaining strong alignment with Global Procurement strategies and governance frameworks. Reporting to the team lead procurement, your responsibilities will include:
What you'll do :
- Act as the senior procurement partner for laboratory, technical, and operational stakeholders at local and regional level, ensuring continuity of supply for equipment, consumables, and technical services.
- Lead strategic sourcing initiatives and high-value negotiations within the assigned scope, optimizing total cost of ownership while ensuring alignment with approved budgets.
- Collaborate closely with Global Procurement Managers to align local and regional sourcing activities with global category strategies, preferred supplier lists, and contractual frameworks.
- Ensure full adherence to Global Procurement Governance, internal policies, ethical standards, and delegated authority rules across all sourcing and contracting activities.
- Drive supplier lifecycle management, including supplier selection, performance monitoring, risk assessment, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Define, monitor, and report supplier and service KPIs, covering cost, quality, delivery, sustainability, and service performance.
- Proactively identify and mitigate risks related to supplier performance, supply continuity, and cost volatility, implementing contingency and mitigation plans in coordination with global and regional stakeholders.
- Provide budget ownership support, forecasting, cost center analysis, and spend transparency for local and regional stakeholders.
- Lead the resolution of complex commercial and operational issues, including invoice discrepancies, contractual disputes, and supplier performance escalations.
- Master’s degree in international procurement and at least 5 to 7 years of experience in a purchasing department in an industrial or pharmaceutical company,
- Ability to work autonomously, but also as an active team member
- Strong negotiation and problem-solving skills
- Ability to establish good relationships and work effectively with internal users and suppliers.
- Fluent in French and English
- Proficiency in common office software as Microsoft Word, Excel, experience using ERP systems e-procurement platform, eco-vadis knowledge.
