QuantX Labs is an emerging Australian deep-tech company developing advanced technologies across the Space, Defence and Commercial sectors. We are growing quickly, working on complex programs and building the systems, capability and infrastructure needed to support our next phase.

As we continue to grow, we’re creating a new Senior Systems Administrator role to strengthen our internal technology capability across both our corporate and engineering environments.

This is a broad, hands-on role for someone who likes being close to the technology. You’ll work across infrastructure, systems, security, Microsoft 365, Linux environments and external technology providers, while helping us build more scalable and reliable IT practices as the business grows.

Reporting to the Head of Operations and working closely with our Engineering function, you’ll play an important role in supporting day-to-day technology operations while also contributing to infrastructure planning, systems improvement and future capability requirements.

The Opportunity

You will be responsible for the day-to-day administration, reliability and security of our IT environment, including:

• Administering and maintaining Linux-based servers, systems and services.
• Managing Microsoft 365 services including Entra ID, Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, Intune and Defender.
• Supporting on-premises and cloud-hosted infrastructure.
• Managing user identities, permissions, access controls and endpoint administration.
• Troubleshooting systems, applications, infrastructure and end-user technology issues.
• Supporting backup, recovery, patching, monitoring and lifecycle management.
• Coordinating IT support, infrastructure activities and projects delivered through external MSPs and technology vendors.
• Supporting software deployment, licensing, device provisioning and asset management.
• Maintaining system documentation, procedures and configuration records.
• Supporting cyber security controls and ongoing improvements to the security of the environment.
• Identifying opportunities to automate, simplify and improve IT systems and processes.

About You

You will be an experienced, practical systems and infrastructure professional who is comfortable working independently and taking ownership of issues through to resolution.

You will bring:

• Strong hands-on experience administering Linux environments.
• Experience administering Microsoft 365 and Entra ID.
• Experience supporting on-premises and cloud infrastructure.
• Experience across identity and access management, endpoints and security controls.
• Strong technical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Experience working with Managed Service Providers, vendors or specialist technology partners.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• The ability to prioritise competing requirements and operate effectively in a growing, fast-moving environment.

Experience supporting engineering, product development or technology environments will be highly regarded, as will experience in Defence, Space or other security-sensitive environments.

Relevant qualifications in IT, Computer Science, Information Systems or a related discipline are desirable, although strong equivalent industry experience will also be considered. Relevant Microsoft, Linux, cloud, cyber security or IT service-management certifications would be advantageous.
