The primary purpose of this position is to underwrite new business and renewals for Cyber/Tech and E&O in the Asia Region in a profitable manner and according to authority level and established guidelines and participate in special projects having an impact on the business. Occasionally, this role may be required to review new business and renewals for all Financial Lines products. The role will be required to utilize underwriting tools to determine accurate classifications, rates, and premium charges. Understand state laws, including cancellation and non-renewal, within assigned territory to properly transact business within each state. Knowledgeable in coverage forms and policy language; appropriate utilization of forms and exclusions. Able to provide coaching to others.

Duties include reviewing, analysing, accepting, and declining risks to ensure profitability. Communicate and collaborate with management as well as product line leaders on individual accounts and overall portfolio. Actively participate in production and claims meetings. Review exposures, terms, conditions and pricing on new and renewal business and handle related servicing. Maintain and adhere to all underwriting file documentation standards. Cultivate and improve broker relationships across the region.

Your new role:
  • Profitably underwrite existing Financial Lines products business and new business to include reviewing, analysing, accepting, and declining risks.
  • Proactively communicate with regional managers and national product line leaders on individual accounts, current and proposed producers.
  • Inform business decisions by making recommendations concerning operations, systems and procedures.
  • Review submissions and identify exposure and risk from information provided.
  • Review terms, conditions and pricing.
  • Implement corrective measures on renewal accounts as needed.
  • Monitor producers for profitability and production.
About you:
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Financial Lines underwriting required.
  • In depth understanding Financial Lines policy forms and endorsement language required.
  • Existing producer relationships in Asia strongly preferred.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Must have excellent oral and written communication skills, effective negotiation skills, and skilled presentation aptitude.
  • Strong customer-service focus; able to organize and prioritize to meet multiple demands and commitments.
  • Team player
  • Must be proficient in MS Word, Outlook, & Excel.
  • Flexible to travel up to 25%.
