The Senior Waiter/Waitress is responsible for providing exceptional service to guests
while overseeing and coordinating the activities of junior waitstaff. This role combines
hands-on customer service with leadership responsibilities, ensuring smooth operations
in the dining area and a positive guest experience. The Senior Waiter/Waitress will report
to the Head Waiter or Restaurant Manager, and will be expected to lead by example, set
high standards of service, and support the management team in training and developing
staff.
The main tasks and Duties:
- Greet guests, take orders, suggest menu items
- Ensure food and drinks are served promptly and accurately to guests
- Resolve any guest complaints or concerns in a professional and timely manner to ensure guest satisfaction
- Maintain high standard of cleanliness and presentation in the dining area
- Supervise junior waitstaff, delegate tasks and responsibilities, assist with training and provide guidance and support to the team during peak hours
- Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to ensure orders are prepared correctly and in a timely manner
- Work closely with the Restaurant Manager and Head Waiter to ensure service goals and standards are met
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations, ensuring that food handling and service procedures meet industry standards.
- Assist with inventory monitoring stock levels of restaurant supplies.
Job pre-requisites
- At least 1 year of relevant experience
- A genuine love for hospitality and delivered exceptional service
- Strong multitasking and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Excellent communication and team building skills
- Ability to work evenings, weekends and holidays as needed
- Open full time right to work in New Zealand
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $26.00 – $28.00 per hour
