Senior/Lead Fullstack Software Engineer - React - Remote or Hybrid in Dublin

The Opportunity

BeyondBMI is an ambitious, fast-growing startup reshaping obesity and weight-loss care. We already support over 1,000 members across Ireland through our comprehensive, evidence-based approach - combining medical intervention, psychology, dietetics, and health coaching.

We’re now expanding our Product & Engineering team to help us scale and digitise our offering. This is an exciting moment to join us: we’re rebuilding our core infrastructure and user interface from the ground up and laying the technical foundations for future growth. As part of this, we are implementing dramatic feature improvements and migrating from Angular to a modern Next.js front-end stack that aligns closely with our React Native mobile app.

We’re looking for a Senior/Lead Fullstack Engineer to join a small, high-impact team and help shape our product’s evolution. You’ll work across our core product experiences - from architecture to interface design - with meaningful ownership, strong design input, and the opportunity to influence everything from tooling to user experience.

This role can evolve into a Lead Engineer position: we’re ready to invest in building a team around you and your technical vision.

What We’re Looking For

Core Skills

• Strong experience with React Native / React
• Strong experience with Node.js with TypeScript.
• Solid understanding of TypeScript fundamentals
• Experience with Next.js, RESTful API design, and relational databases (Postgres)
• Familiarity with AWS cloud services (e.g., Lambda, ECS, S3, RDS) and infrastructure best practices.

Nice to Have

• Experience with Terraform, Storybook, Zustand or Redux, and Jest.
• Experience with Storybook and React Router
• Background in leading or mentoring development teams.

• Someone that challenges the norm and isn’t afraid to voice their opinion and shape the technology strategy of the company.
