Essential Job Functions:

  • To provide fast, friendly, professional, and attentive service to Rivers most important guests, ensuring they receive world class and personalized service.
  • Builds relationships with guests, remembering previous visits and preferences
  • Clears empty dishes, utensils and glassware from tables and takes to dish room, being careful to control breakage and keeping items from being thrown in trash.
  • Wipes down tables, chairs/booths, and sweeps debris from floor, if necessary.
  • Offers additional beverages and provides refills.
  • Knows and can answer questions about current casino events and programs and can give guests directions to all casino areas.
  • Resolves guest complaints when appropriate and communicates guest complaints to management immediately.
  • Completes all opening, closing and running cleaning duties.
  • Keeps lounge area and side stations organized, clean and free of debris, pointing out any facilities or EVS needs to manager.
  • Follows all safety and sanitation rules, including lifting and carrying procedures, and reports any discrepancies to management.
  • Greets every guest with a smile
  • Follows sequence of service for every guest
  • Possesses complete knowledge of all procedures related to the job.
  • Ensures that the restaurant is properly set and ready for business, checking for cleanliness
  • Ensures that all guests are treated in a prompt, professional and courteous manner.
  • Knows the menu items, specials, and prices.
  • Uses the pivot point system to ensure proper placement of food.
  • Takes orders accurately and completely.
  • Knows current wine list and has an understanding of the different wines.
  • Completes all side work and other duties as assigned in a timely manner.
  • Offers assistance to all guests regardless of where they are seated.
  • Performs table side cooking/preparing as required
  • Upholds standards by setting examples with appearance and work ethic.
  • Works to ensure a clean and sanitary work area at all times.
  • Handles any guest’s complaints or problems in a prompt and courteous manner.
  • Maintains a constant awareness of safety and accident prevention, performing all job duties in the safest possible manner, and immediately notifying the supervisor and completing an accident report if a personal accident does occur.
  • Keeps work area clean.
  • Ensures thorough communication between shifts.
  • Remains up to date on all Department Policies and Procedures.
  • Understands that schedules are subject to change.
  • Complies with all departmental rules, side work assignments, and departmental procedures.
  • Performs all other duties specified or assigned.

Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities):

  • Requires constant standing, walking, bending with occasional sitting, reaching outward, reaching above shoulder level, squatting and kneeling
  • Requires constant pulling/pushing up to 25lbs. with occasional pulling/pushing of 25-75lbs.
  • Must possess outstanding interpersonal communications skills to effectively interface with guests and team members.
  • Possesses ability to work under pressure.
  • Prior experience is helpful as well as a proven track record demonstrating sound judgment.
  • Must also possess a cooperative, helpful and friendly nature, and present a neat, clean, well- groomed appearance.
  • Is always clean and neat, in proper uniform, including nametag, I. D. badge, and slip resistant shoes.
  • Reports to work on time; signs and swipes in properly.
  • Possesses complete knowledge of all procedures related to the job.
  • Must attend and pass Care (Controlling Alcohol Risks Effectively).
  • Adheres to the Cut Off Procedures
  • Ability to communicate with Team members and guests
  • Ability to be a TEAM player
  • Ability to successfully fulfill the pre-employment process
  • Ability to work flexible shifts and days of the week including holidays
