About the role

As a Service Desk Analyst, your excellent communication skills and exceptional technical skills will be a perfect fit for our team.

You will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our IT systems and applications, resolving technical issues, and providing exceptional customer service. Reporting to the Head of ICT, you will be supporting SCCQ staff in use of ICT hardware, peripherals and software, and assisting the other members of the ICT team while working closely with the ICT Systems Engineer/Administrator and the ICT Lead.

Some of your responsibilities include:
  • Providing first line support, by phone, email or using a ticket management system. for any information technology issues and problems.
  • Helping manage the deployment, configuration and security of desktop and mobile computing devices and peripheral devices.
  • Troubleshooting desktop and notebook/tablet hardware, peripherals and equipment as necessary.
  • Liaising with vendors pertaining to repairs of computers.
  • Assisting in the documentation of ICT policies and procedures and preparing correspondence for staff as required
  • Assisting with compilation and management of ICT asset registers
  • Proactively managing stock levels of consumables, spares and replacement equipment.
  • Addressing and resolving basic incidents and requests, logging all incidents and requests
  • Creating a positive customer support experience, ensuring timely resolution or escalation, communicating promptly on progress and handling customers with a consummately professional attitude
What will you bring to the role?
  • Proven experience as a Service Desk Analyst or in a similar technical support role
  • Strong technical skills and knowledge of Windows operating systems, Microsoft Office Suite, hardware, and networking concepts
  • Familiarity with the ITIL framework and IT service management principles
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users
  • Ability to work independently and prioritise tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • University or TAFE Qualifications in Information Technology. Professional certifications such as CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP), or ITIL Foundation Certification are a plus
  • Drivers licence as travel to sites may be required at times
  • Ability to take part in On Call roster
