About the role

The Support Specialist role is a 12-month fixed term contract opportunity, with possible extension. We are looking for a self-motivated and experienced ICT professional with at least 2 to 3 years’ experience in medium and large-scale Information Technology (IT) environments, with a focus on network support. The role consists of supporting systems including WAN routing, LAN switching, Wi-Fi connectivity, Firewall and Security Appliances, general network security/analysis/reporting and traffic logging/analysis.


The position is primarily centred around supporting Denver’s MSP client base but factoring in progression goals will see some involvement in project work and exposure to other teams within Denver. From time to time, you may be required to work at our client’s sites, 5 days a week for up to one month. There is a requirement for on-call (after hours) availability on a rotating roster as well as flexibility around start/finish times within a 12-hour coverage period.

You will have experience with the below:

  • At least 1-2 years’ experience in networking/firewall related roles.
  • Solid foundation in core IP network concepts including routing, switching, subnetting, WAN connections and DNS etc
  • Experience with a commercial switch/routing network vender such as Cisco or Juniper
  • Able to provide technical explanations to clients in an understandable manner.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in multi-disciplinary team environments including hybrid teams involving Client and Denver Technology resources
  • Network support and troubleshooting across a varied customer environment.
  • Experience in assisting with support on Windows and Cloud (M365/Azure) systems.

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Respond to and resolve medium to high level network support requests and issues.
  • Active or in-progress Cisco CCNA level certification such as CCNA Routing and Switching, CCNA Data Centre, or CCNA Security certification – or other equivalent networking certification.
  • Experience with Fortinet Firewalls and associated platforms (FortiAnalyzer, FortiManager)
  • Experience in the review and analysis of existing network infrastructure.
  • Knowledge of one or more Cyber Security frameworks
  • Experience working in a billable environment with time sheeting responsibilities.
