An opportunity has risen for an experienced and motivated person to join the Child and Youth Mental Health Service in the position of Service Manager for three community teams. This position is part of a dynamic, highly enthusiastic and supportive CYMHS executive team. The position is spread across NSLHD with offices in 3 different sites making work a changeable and fascinating environment around the northern suburbs and the Northen Beaches.

Where you'll be working
Across NSLHD where EPIS, Youth Response Teams and Safe Haven services are based (Hornsby, Northern Beaches and Macquarie Hospital site.

What you'll be doing
This position is responsible for the day to day clinical and administrative functioning of the service. The manager of Safe Havens is also expected to take a leadership role in the planning of Child and Youth Mental Health Services (CYMHS) including Early Psychosis Intervention Service (EPIS) and Rapid Response Youth Teams (RRYT) in the Sectors in conjunction with the Service Director and the Service Director CYMHS.
The manager of Safe Havens is responsible for representing CYMHS on a number of cross area and multidisciplinary committees and working parties.
The manager of Safe Havens will have delegated to it leadership and management of particular priority areas or projects for service provision including EPIS and RRYT according to the portfolio management structure of Child and Youth Mental Health Services.
The manager of Safe Havens will participate in an on call after hours rotating roster through the CYMHS Executive and will act in the position of Service Director when requested

People of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander background encouraged to apply.
Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:


  • Relevant post-graduate qualification and/or working towards same and demonstrated commitment to professional development
  • Relevant experience in the management and leadership of multidisciplinary child and/or youth mental health services, particularly within a community mental health setting
  • Demonstrated ability to develop, monitor and report on strategic, business and work plans.
