- Exciting leadership opportunity – collaborate with Clinical Heads to lead our dedicated teams
- Influence and drive change – be a key player in service planning and strategic initiatives
About the Roles
A restructure of the leadership and Mental Health & Addictions Acute and Hospital portfolio of services at Counties Manukau has resulted in the creation of two new portfolios, each with its own dedicated Service Manager and Clinical Head roles:
- Acute Inpatient Unit portfolio (Tiaho Mai)
- Acute Services portfolio
We are now seeking two exceptional Service Managers to lead each of these distinct portfolios, working in a highly collaboratively manner with one another, the respective Clinical Heads and wider multidisciplinary leadership team.
Both roles will be responsible for all aspects of the financial, administrative and operational management within their respective portfolios. You will be a member of the Mental Health & Addictions Leadership team, accountable to the General Manager. Working alongside other Service Managers, Clinical, Cultural and Professional leaders and the Lived Experience workforce, you will contribute to the development and delivery of service plans and achievement of the Mental Health and Addictions Health targets.
Adult Acute Inpatient Unit Portfolio (Tiaho Mai) – our team of clinicians and support staff are committed to providing excellent, best-practice care to tangata whaiora and their whaanau as they journey through the acute inpatient unit. They maintain close working relationships with their colleagues across the care continuum, including community mental health teams, NGO partners and primary care providers. This state-of-the-art therapeutic environment is enhanced by internal courtyards and currently operates three wards with 52 bed capacity. It is anticipated a fourth ward will be operational by late 2025.
Acute Services Portfolio – Acute Services consists of the following multidisciplinary teams: Intake and Acute Assessment (including staff who work in the Middlemore Hospital Emergency Department), Referral Management Service, Home Based Treatment and Tamaki Oranga Recovery Centre, a 20 bed, all male inpatient rehabilitation unit in Ootara. These services work in close partnership with the adult community teams, NGO partners and primary care providers. They strive to deliver care that is accessible, compassionate and culturally responsive to the needs of our South Auckland communities.
