Join the AA's growing DevOps team in Auckland and become a champion of reliability! We're seeking a passionate Service Reliability Engineer to ensure the availability, performance, and scalability of our critical systems.

What You'll Be Doing | Mō te Tūranga
As a Service Reliability Engineer (SRE) within our DevOps team, you'll play a crucial role in maintaining the stability and performance of our digital solutions. This role focuses on implementing best practices, automating processes, and proactively monitoring systems to ensure high service uptime. You'll collaborate closely with development and operations teams to optimize system performance and plan for scalability.
  • Develop and maintain Service Level Objectives (SLOs) and Service Level Indicators (SLIs).
  • Automate deployment, scaling, and system monitoring using scripting and tooling.
  • Implement automated incident response and remediation processes.
  • Set up and manage monitoring and alerting systems (e.g., Datadog).
  • Analyze system performance metrics to optimize and improve service reliability.
  • Collaborate with development teams for scalability planning and capacity testing.
  • Participate in on-call rotations and conduct post-incident reviews (PIRs).
  • Ensure systems meet security and compliance requirements.
  • Drive continuous process improvement and optimization.

About You | Mōu
  • Tertiary qualifications in Computer Systems, Software/Telecommunications Engineering, or equivalent.
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in manual and automation testing.
  • Experience delivering projects in Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages.
  • Knowledge of monitoring and alerting tools (e.g., Datadog).
  • Understanding of DevOps practices and principles.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines.
  • Familiarity with incident response and post-incident analysis.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
