Additionally, we proudly rank among the top 140 universities globally in the Times Higher Young University World Rankings.

Ambition, Responsibility and Openness drive our every endeavour. Join our esteemed institution with a proven track record of success, and where dedication to excellence is key. We want people to make their mark in a professional community that truly values people, innovation, and achievement.

The Role:
The School of Architecture Art and Design is looking to appoint part-time, hourly-paid lecturers and tutors to contribute to our undergraduate and/or postgraduate curriculum. The number of hours worked is flexible and can be negotiated. The rate of pay includes remuneration for all work connected with teaching, including preparation, setting and marking of coursework and exams, related course administration, and holiday pay accrued.

Applicants should have a strong general knowledge of the field as well as specialist experience in one or more of the following areas:

Fashion Marketing:
Applicants should have a broad understanding of fashion marketing communications and practice within the fashion sector. Desired areas of expertise include creative and strategic skills, global fashion retail and fashion design management, consumer insight and customer experience, social media marketing, and fashion branding. Industry experience is highly valued for several of these areas.

Fashion Design:
Applicants should have experience in one or more of the following areas: fashion design and technical processes (pattern cutting, garment development and construction), textile design and technical processes (print and embroidery), fashion graphics for portfolio development and promotion, fashion illustration, technical flats/specs. They should have professional practice within the fashion industry, and/or teaching experience in further or higher education. Familiarity with contemporary tools and methods, such as Clo3D, Adobe software, and sustainable design approaches, is highly desirable.

If you have experience in teaching and assessment within a Higher Education setting in a relevant subject area and are keen to use your skills to enhance our current provision, we welcome your application.

Successful candidates will be added to the Architecture, Art, and Design bank of Sessional Teaching Fellows and will be offered hours as required to cover staff shortages.

Sessional Teaching Fellows are entitled to a pro-rata annual leave allowance, which is included in their contracts. They are expected to follow and deliver the established curriculum and contribute to assessment activities, including marking, moderation, and dissertation supervision. While a certain level of independence in planning and delivering teaching and assessments is expected, post holders will need to communicate effectively with other staff (both academic and professional services) and work collaboratively as part of a teaching team.
