Description:
The Role:
As a key member of our farm operations team, you will support the maintenance and smooth operation of our farming activities. Your responsibilities will include preventative and reactive maintenance of machinery and equipment, welding and metal fabrication, operating materials handling equipment, and performing general grounds and facilities maintenance. You will work closely with our Farm Operations Manager and broader team to ensure maintenance requirements are met efficiently and safely.

Key Responsibilities:
Workplace Health & Safety:
Undertake all duties in a safe and responsible manner.

Ensure team members are properly trained and licensed.

Conduct regular safety audits, report incidents and hazards.

Maintain a clean and compliant work environment in line with food safety and WHS standards.

Operate materials handling equipment in accordance with regulations.

Farm & Equipment Maintenance:
Perform welding, metal fabrication, and mechanical fitting tasks.

Conduct preventative and reactive maintenance on machinery, plant, and infrastructure.

Maintain forklifts, tractors, trailers, and other equipment to legal and operational standards.

Conduct prestart checks and routine inspections on machinery.

Maintain spray equipment, fuels, oils, and chemical registers.

Carry out general grounds duties including mowing, weed spraying, and maintaining bait stations.

Coordinate third-party providers for complex repairs when necessary.

General Duties:
Work collaboratively within the team and contribute to team meetings.

Follow company policies and procedures, working within authority levels.

Demonstrate strong communication skills and business literacy.

Perform any other duties as required to support farm operations.

Skills and Experiences:
Qualifications:
Forklift and Driver’s License

Chemicals Certification (highly regarded)

First Aid Certificate (highly regarded)

Qualified Trade (highly regarded)

Skills & Attributes:
Basic computer skills (email, Word, Excel)

Strong verbal and written communication

Organised with the ability to meet deadlines

Problem-solving skills and ability to work autonomously

Hands-on, reliable, and safety-conscious
