Primary Focus

Shipping & Receiving representative will work alongside the Shipping Manager. Assisting with all shipping, receiving, and warehouse activities. Ensure that quantitative and qualitative measures included in the operating plan are met (includes priorities related to health and safety, good manufacturing practices, sanitation, customer service, building security and proper levels of staffing). The incumbent participates in maintaining the requirements on food safety and quality

Accountabilities / Direct

• Responsible for picking/packing orders
• Responsible for receiving orders
• Overseas work efforts, ensures timeliness and accuracy of all selected orders
• Responsible for general housekeeping and equipment cleaning duties as required
• Responsible for training employees on Company’s policies and procedures
• Verifies and keeps records on incoming and outgoing shipments and prepares items for shipment
• Verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records
• Ensures that all Health and Safety related requirements are met within the department
• Keeps accurate records of employees’ attendance and submits in timely fashion to the HR department.
• Leads and directs a team of unionized and temporary employees
• Ensure key performance indicators include Health and Safety, Sanitation, Customer Service/Satisfaction, Inventory losses/damages, communications, HACCP requirements, productivity and good manufacturing practices are adhered to;
• Works closely with the Production Department in order to meet the needs of the warehouse as it relates to available inventory
• Overseas the inventory control functions to ensure accuracy and timeliness (performed the end of the shift Friday)
• Promotes and enhances a positive employee relation’s environment including efforts to continuously improve teamwork and establish high levels of employee involvement.
• Maintaining the integrity of the warehouse processes
• Other duties as and when assigned

Required Skills / Experience & Abilities

• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in shipping and receiving preferably with refrigerated, limited shelf life food product
• Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written)
• Minimum of 1 year experience as a leader directly involved in warehousing
• Demonstrated interpersonal, communication, leadership skills and the ability to work in a team environment
• Experience in Health and Safety leadership, HACCP, SQF, quality assurance and GMPs
• Strong computer literacy, ideally with MS Office (Word & Excel)

Pay: From $19.00 per hour
