Belden Universal is seeking a Shipping & Receiving Associate for the power transmission industry in Hillside, IL. The position is responsible for the shipment of our universal joints worldwide and the receiving of incoming goods. Our Shipping & Receiving Associate will be cross-trained in our Material Handling area as well as driving the company van for deliveries. Candidates should be capable of reviewing sales orders in order to ship our universal joints according to customer requirements.

Shipping & Receiving Associate Job Duties:

• Process orders for shipment and receive incoming goods
• Package items, print labels, weigh packages and determine appropriate shipping/packaging instructions
• Create shipping documents in shipping portals; including papers for international shipments (commercial invoices)
• Handle basic tools like box cutter, tape guns, stretch film rolls
• Use of pallet jacks, shrink wrapping machine, hand trucks
• Ensure order accuracy for incoming and outgoing goods
• Use computer hardware and software to generate labels and maintain equipment
• Maintaining and organizing adequate shipping supplies
• Receiving duties: count material, check the contents of packages against packing list and purchase orders, receive the purchase order in our ERP system
• Routes incoming material to correct department
• Material Handling duties: identify and control movement of inbound steel, unload and load trucks, operate an automatic saw cutting machine and transport orders in the company van. Document material and supplies in computer system
• Scrap removal and other responsibilities as assigned

Skills/Qualifications:

• High School Education
• Valid drivers license and excellent driving record
• Basic computer & math skills
• Ability to lift 50lbs without restriction and be in good physical shape
• Experience in an ISO or AS9100 shop a plus
• Ability to follow instructions (SOPs) and work under pressure
• Must be highly resourceful, self-motivated and able to work independently as well as within cross functional teams

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $22.00 - $24.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
