Shop Fabrication Saw Operator / Painter

Overview
We are a small steel fabrication shop. The position will include prime painting finished projects, cutting steel materials to length using bandsaw, drilling holes and yard maintenance. Assisting shop as needed.

Responsibilities

• Operate various types of saws, ensuring precision in cutting materials according to specifications.
• Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings to determine cutting requirements.
• Utilize power tools effectively for cutting, shaping, and finishing materials.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety protocols at all times.
• Perform routine maintenance on equipment to ensure optimal performance.
• Collaborate with team members to meet production deadlines and quality standards.
• Assist in the setup and operation of additional machinery such as press brake machines and plasma cutters as needed.
• Follow all company policies regarding safety, quality control, and production processes.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Saw Operator or in a similar role within a manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency in blueprint reading and understanding technical specifications.
• Familiarity with welding techniques, including FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding).
• Experience operating forklifts and other material handling equipment is preferred.
• Knowledge of pipe threading processes is advantageous.
• Strong understanding of industry codes and standards related to manufacturing practices.
• Basic math skills for measurements and calculations related to cutting tasks.
• Ability to operate power tools safely and effectively.
• Strong attention to detail with a commitment to producing high-quality work.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well in a team-oriented environment.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $15.00 - $16.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 48 per week
