Job Overview
This position is responsible for picking up, transporting, and delivering secured documents from designated customers for the purpose of being shredded and conducting preventative maintenance and performing repairs on production machinery, building premises, and the agency fleet as appropriate. The person filling this position must be capable of establishing good rapport and working relationships with personnel at various customer sites, complying with procedures that ensure the security of BWSS containers and their contents, driving safely, proficiently and following prescribed routes and schedules, and performing all duties using proper techniques, safe practices, and complying with agency policy and procedures.
Duties
- Must be able to drive a truck with a capacity of under 26,000 pounds GVW, primarily to deliver or pick up secured documents in bins or consoles within a specified area.
- Maintains all production equipment, machinery and molds as specific repairs are needed.
- Must be able to perform physical activities that require considerable use of arms and legs and moving the whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping and handling of materials. Must load and/or unload bins and consoles, weighing up to 200 pounds.
- Must be able to read maps and follow written and verbal geographic directions.
- Capable of following all security policies and procedures related to the transport and safeguarding of secure documents.
- Assists Workfloor Manager in the identification and analysis of janitorial and building preventive maintenance duties.
- Completes and documents scheduled preventative maintenance on all equipment.
- Completes maintenance work orders or refers to supervisor for outsourcing.
- Performs basic preventive maintenance duties on the agency’s fleet of vehicles. Conducts some repairs and outsources as required.
- Responsible for maintaining an orderly tool room and accurate inventory of tools and materials.
- Maintains all production equipment machinery, and molds as specific repairs are needed and on a preventive maintenance schedule.
- May perform work on special building internal construction and renovation projects.
- Maintains drive and parking lot facilities – including snow & ice. May include asphalt and cement repairs, signage and striping.
- Participates in all scheduled trainings or in-services and demonstrates interest and competency in the effective application of training practices.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
Requirements
- High School diploma or its equivalent.
- Must pass physical, urine & alcohol drug screen, criminal background, Recipient Rights, driving record check (must have salutary driving record).
- Be at least nineteen years of age or have 3 years of driving experience.
- Valid Chauffeur’s license or be able to obtain thereof. Must maintain current driver’s license status at all times.
- Must be able to obtain and retain a valid DOT Medical Card.
- Ability to maintain records and communicate in writing.
- Safe driving record acceptable to agency insurance carrier.
- Ability to work cooperatively with consumers, co-workers and supervisors.
- Able to perform preventative maintenance on building and building related systems (i.e., heating, air, plumbing, roof, etc.).
- Experience in functions such as inspection, repair, maintenance, troubleshooting, installation, and servicing of major industrial equipment.
- Capable of using blueprints, diagrams, schematics, and technical manuals related to machinery and equipment used at Community Enterprises.
- Comprehensive knowledge of electrical, hydraulic, pneumatics, and mechanical principles as applied to injection molding machines and other production equipment relevant to CESCC’s operation.
- Possess carpentry, building, and welding skills.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $21.00 - $24.00 per hour
Expected hours: 37.5 per week
