Business Need / Purpose of Role
Working in a matrix structure and a member of the Regional Sales Team, the Sector Specialist is
responsible for growing sector revenue, possess an in-depth knowledge on their sector, value
proposition and solutions. The Incumbent will strongly position Inchcape as the partner of
choice both in APAC and globally.

  • Accountable as APAC Point of Contact as subject matter expert for customer engagement
    in the sector
  • Own and manage portfolio of defined sector accounts in the APAC region
  • Accountable for revenue growth, generating and capturing new sales leads, providing
    strategic guidance and support to country and sales team, and sharing best practices to
    drive awareness and build expertise within the Sector in APAC Region
  • A can-do attitude, an excellent communicator and a key facilitator that can drive and lead
    multiple interactions between our internal and external stakeholders
  • Execution of regional and local commercial process and procedures.
  • Ensures the appropriate governance, safety and controls are established and
    implemented to adhere to Group policy and local statutory requirements

Duties & Responsibilities:


Business Planning


  • Develop a growth strategy for APAC sector revenue and Controlled Revenue
  • Thorough and structured pipeline formation supporting the business plan covering lead
generation, qualification, and proposal stages to obtain commitment and sales.
  • To actively participate in the delivery of the geographic business plans, as required.


Reporting

  • Monthly Sales Report before the 5th of each month
  • Quarterly business plan review with VP Sales
  • Ensure customer account activity, information and opportunities are accurately recorded in
Customer Relationship Management systems (Salesforce).
  • Any specific project reporting


Account Management

  • Key point of contact for key accounts within APAC
  • Regular and structured account calls/meetings with a documented meeting purpose, plan and
desired pay-off.
  • Proactively ensure Account Receivables for assigned customer accounts are collected in a
timely manner.


Sales Execution

  • Securing customer commitment and agreement.
  • Pricing and rates qualification and agreement with Inchcape Pricing Policy.
  • Contract formation and tender processing with expertise from contracts team and guidance
from VP Sales.
  • Communicate client requirements / key deliverables to internal stakeholders
  • Review and follow up after sale is closed.
  • Lead growth of Inchcape Products and Solutions in APAC.
Market Presence and Profile
  • Establish self and Inchcape as the recognised partner for Port Agency and Marine Services by
growing knowledge base, networking with credible sources and partners, researching market
trends and actively participating at industry events.
  • Share industry knowledge and experiences within the Sales Team and wider business to
enhance Inchcape’s value proposition.


Ensure all Sales development processes are in accordance with the values and ethics of ISS. The post holder will carry out any other duties within the scope and purpose of the job as requested by the Line Manager and ensure full utilization of all ISS Systems accordingly to Standard Operating Procedures.


Key Deliverables:

  • Revenue growth
  • Customer retention
  • Reporting and Administrations – Salesforce CRM administration, 40 Face to Face business call/meetings per month, Business Opportunities pipeline.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities


  • Knowledge of Shipping operations
  • Knowledge of customer base and their requirements
  • Working knowledge of operating and / or CRM (Customer Relationship Management) systems
  • Experience of working to pre-defined processes and procedures and delivering work in accordance to SLA (Service Level Agreements)
  • Critical thinker and problem solver with a can-do attitude that can work independently.
  • Good negotiation, writing and influencing skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure, balance multiple tasks, and under different time zones. Ability to work in a multicultural environment.
  • Competent user of the Microsoft Office suite including Outlook, Excel and Word. Proficient in CRM usage (SalesForce.com).
  • Solid communication and presentation skills.
  • Have great attention to details and effective organizational skills.

Education/Experience:


  • 10+ years’ experience in Sales business planning short to long term, pipeline creation and
    execution, Contract formation and negotiation.
  • Excellent knowledge (verbal & written) of the English language.
  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) is preferred.
  • Degree in Business Administration or a related field.
