Nashwaak Villa Inc: Nashwaak Villa Inc. is a nursing home to 30 senior residents. Our organization follows a person-centered philosophy of care. The goals of our organization are to continue to improve our services to become more person-centered and holistic in caring for our residents, staff, and surrounding community members.
Nursing Home Without Walls: Nursing Home Without Walls (NHWW) is a New Brunswick initiative designed to support older adults living independently in their communities. The program delivers personalized services—such as social engagement, wellness activities, and access to health and nutrition resources—outside of traditional institutional settings. It aims to enhance quality of life, reduce isolation, and promote aging in place by connecting seniors with the care and companionship they need, right where they live.

Job Description:
Role and Responsibilities
Support the development of and execute a community outreach program for the older population (60+) to meet the objectives of the project. The community includes the Nashwaak Rural Community Area.
The objectives are to:
· ensure that seniors and their families/friends/neighbours have access to appropriate services and information related to aging in place;
· provide social health initiatives to counter social isolation and loneliness to seniors and their caregivers;
· increase knowledge on health-related issues important to aging in place and healthy aging for seniors and their caregivers;
· empower the local community to respond to the needs of an aging population.
Support the evaluation of how social and built environments can foster healthy aging by creating and implementing evaluation tools and reports on initiatives carried out. Initiatives include:
· Based on the premise of the NB Home First Strategy and the NB Strategy on Aging/Family Plan provide services and support options needed for aging in place.
· Developing programs that address social isolation and lack of transportation services in a rural community.
· Providing health promotion opportunities and information that supports aging in place.
· Providing a supportive community environment for seniors and their caregivers.
Work within the principles of:
· Respecting the contributions of seniors, their families and the community.
· Encouraging seniors to take charge of their health through wellness and lifelong learning.
· Encouraging independence and choices for seniors.
· Enhancing collaboration and developing an age-friendly community approach.
· Respecting gender and equity.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
College or University education in such areas as health care professionals, project management, business management, and/or health and well-being studies related to the position.
Preferred Skills
· Good knowledge of ageing, age-friendly communities and resources as well as issues relating to the older population.
· Thorough understanding of performance measurement and evaluation.
· Thorough understanding of project management.
· Excellent self-motivation and problem-solving skills.
· Excellent communication skills both written and verbal and the ability to build positive relations and collaborations.
· Ability to present information to individuals and groups.
· Experience in engaging people through assessments, and/or group work is an asset.
Additional Notes
Business hours are typically 8:30 – 4:30, however, some weekends and evenings will be required.
This position includes working as a part of a team of staff including maintenance, bus drivers, LPN, and Recreation staff. This position reports to the Nursing Home Executive Director.
