This role required that you gain proficiency through on-the-job training and experience. You need either deep skills in this discipline or knowledge of a range of processes, procedures, and systems. You also need a broad understanding of the job and know how to apply knowledge and skills to complete assigned tasks. You should understand how your team works with others to accomplish objectives and be able to exchange detailed, complicated information with other team members.
It is your responsibility to evaluate analytical or scientific problems in unusual situations and select solutions based on established procedures. You will serve as an informal resource on operational, administrative, data organization, or coordination tasks for less experienced team members with no direct supervisory responsibilities. Your performance will impact the quality, timeliness, and effectiveness of your own work and your team’s work. You should be able to modify work practices and processes to achieve results and/or improve efficiency.
- Understands business, site, modal rules, material flow requirements and operational capabilities
- Reviews, identifies and resolves constraints and/or restrictions that may impact the ability to fulfill requests
- Serves as the initial contact for carrier resolution for all Modes of Transportation (MOTs)
- Communicates with site logistics contacts and carriers (all MOTs) to inform them of scheduling plan exceptions
- Acts as subject matter expert for Material Flow (Site Logistics / Logistics) Work Processes within unit/plant/site
- Identifies all resources required to successfully, safely, accurately, and efficiently complete work requests
- Identifies constraints and/or restrictions that may impact the ability to fulfill work requests
- Monitors work request completion and take appropriate action and creates and distributes scheduling plan (plan to include all modes (inbound/outbound/packaging)
- Verifies that the schedule can be met within the current status of logistics operations
- Communicates with appropriate resources, via proper procedures, to coordinate required services within specified timelines
- Reviews the scheduling plan for completeness, manage changes, exceptions, and facilitate resolution of issues
- Verifies all shipment details for accuracy and completeness and addresses scheduling exceptions (non-compliances)
- Gathers, monitors, reviews, and communicates scheduling performance measures within work processes to appropriate partners
- Records necessary Diamond/SAP system entries in a timely and efficient manner by completing activities such as: shipping, receipt process, and storing/blending production orders
- Prepares and executes the requisition plan for packaging materials required to comply with the packaging plan and its possible modifications.
- Ensures that the necessary master data is available and, where appropriate, completed in the management systems (SAP) for the correct execution of the packaging plan both in plants and in external logistics operators.
- Required education: associate technical or administrative degree.(Ciclo Formativo de Grado Superior (CFGS).
- Experience: 3+ years in a supply chain or logistics environment.
- Spanish and English languages at proficient level.
- Knowledge of the SAP system in the areas of planning, production and logistics is preferable. Previous experience in similar positions will be valued.
- The critical competencies required for success are: strong communication and networking skills, act upon safety requirements, understanding customer needs, team work, taking initiative, time management, technical proficiency in use of computer applications and Dow policies and procedures
- Relocation is not supported for this role.
