Position Summary: As a Slitter Operator, you will be responsible for the preparation and processing of the material in and out of the Slitter Operation. To succeed in this role, you should be able to
perform slitter operations to size and cut rolls for shipping, band and wrap skids for shipping and participate in quality and continuous improvement.
- Set up and operate a single or multiple blade slitter, rewind printed stock into equal rolls, with a tabletop edge.
- Load and unload roll on machine, must be able to lift 75 lbs.
- Remove flagged defect from printed rolls and make registered splices.
- Start machine and observe flow of material through machine, make adjustment to machine according to material type.
- Secure completed rolls together and secure the rolls to a pallet for shipping.
- Clean Slitter and work area, keep daily time and production logs.
- Perform plant support activities.

Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts, vibration, and cleaning solvents. The noise level in the work environment can be loud. It has a moderate to high demand for tight deadlines. This position will experience moderate interruption in workflow, starting and stopping for product changeovers.
Physical Demands: The physical demands here are representative of those that must be met by employees to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee is required to see color variance between products, perform tasks requiring manual dexterity, stand for extended periods of time and walk extended distances. Lift 75 pounds to shoulder height. Repetitive motion using wrists, hands, fingers, with the ability to feel and reach with hands and arms.
- Continuous (6 to 10 hours per day) bending, pushing, pulling, climbing stairs, reaching, lifting, and grasping.
- Continuous (6 to 10 hours per day) standing and walking.
- Continuous (6 or more hours per day) talking, teaching, and repetitive motion, hand/wrist movement.
- Good eyesight, normal hearing.
- Ability to move and lift objects, frequently 75 lbs.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: This is a full-time position. Days, nights, and hours may vary depending on assigned shift and production requirements. This position may require significant work hours beyond the normal workday based on the demands of the business cycle, customer volume of business.
Travel: Travel is not required for this position.
- 2 to 5 years’ experience; will provide additional training for the right applicant.
- Excellent English written and spoken skills.
- Be able to read a tape measure and understand basic math.
- Execute with verbal work instructions.
Supervisory Responsibility: This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
