M&M Qualtech are currently recruiting for Surface Mount Technology (SMT) Operators/Technical Production Operators for a new weekend shift commencing in Feb/March 2026.
The Surface Mount Technology Operator as a member of the production team will be responsible for the operation of SMT assembly equipment and related equipment and processes in compliance with standard operating procedures in a good manufacturing practice environment.
This is a team-based role, the team will focus on optimising throughput and equipment utilization, team members will be expected to become proficient on a range of assembly processes and machines to ensure throughput optimization.
Job Responsibilities
· Setup and operate solder paste machine, pick and place machine, AOI, XRAY, Product Inspection and Test machines.
· Ensure optimised SMED procedures are followed including material picking, labelling and kitting material to SMT feeders, component reel changes, de-kitting and countback at the end of builds, loading and unloading of PCBA magazines.
· Touch up and repair of placement and reflow issues as required to ensure continuous flow line operation.
· Carry out product inspection and test where required as per procedure, quality standards and IPC standards.
· Ensure products are fully assembled and that all ERP system & Factory Track system transactions are completed as per SOP.
· Data Input, System Updates, Excel Updates,
· Ensure time, yield and process metric data is fully documented in line with procedure.
· Complete all required documentation accurately, clearly and completely in line with specific procedures and GMP & GDP standards.
· Consistently meet required production outputs in terms of quality, quantity and machine utilization ensuring that customer expectations are met.
· Willing to be flexible and open to learning, and training in new processes.
· Support the cross training of self and other team members.
· Demonstrate a quality culture within a team environment, ensuring that written procedures and work methods for the area are accurate and fully complied with while performing all tasks.
· Maintain proper housekeeping and Health & Safety standards.
· Support the Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) function and agenda within the business.
· Participate in improvement projects and other reasonable tasks as outlined by the supervisor/manager/line lead.
Essential Requirements:
· Leaving Certificate of Level 5 qualification.
· Previous experience in a similar role.
· Strong aptitude for setting up and operating automated equipment.
· High level of attention to detail is essential.
· Appointment to this role is subject to the candidates eligibility to work 24 hours in Ireland.
Desirable
· Experience operating MyData equipment.
· Trained in IPC SMT component placement standards and SMT component placement inspection standards.
· Good interpersonal and communication skills.
· Experience working in a medical manufacturing environment.
· Ability and experience working shift hours.
· Previous experience in a target driven environment.
· Computer literacy using Word, Excel.
· Excellent time and attendance record.
Essential Criteria
· Leaving Certificate or equivalent.
· Right to work full time hours in Ireland.
Job Types: Full-time, Contract
Contract length: 11 months
Pay: €1.00-€1,000.00 per hour
