Duties
- Operate related equipment to clear snow and ice from designated areas such as roads, parking lots, and sidewalks
- Perform routine inspections of plow machinery, including blades, hydraulics, and power tools, ensuring optimal functioning before and after shifts
- Apply salt or de-icing materials to prevent ice formation and enhance safety on cleared surfaces.
- Conduct minor maintenance on snow removal equipment, including lubrication, adjustments, and repairs using hand tools or power tools as needed
- Collaborate with landscaping and landscape maintenance teams to coordinate snow removal efforts with ongoing outdoor projects
- Maintain detailed logs of work completed, including areas cleared and materials used
- Follow safety protocols diligently to prevent accidents or equipment damage during operation in winter conditions.
Requirements
- Proven mechanical knowledge with experience operating heavy machinery such as excavators or landscaping equipment is highly desirable
- Prior experience in snow plowing or outdoor maintenance roles preferred but not mandatory; training provided for the right candidate
- Familiarity with landscaping, hardscape installation, or horticulture practices is a plus
- Ability to work outdoors in cold weather conditions for extended periods while maintaining safety standards
- Knowledge of hand tools, power tools, and basic construction or tree care techniques enhances performance in this role
- Strong attention to detail with excellent safety awareness and communication skills
- Physical stamina to perform manual tasks including shoveling, lifting, bending, and standing for long durations
- Valid driver’s license with clean driving record required; commercial driver’s license (CDL) is advantageous
