Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and physically capable Snow Shoveler to join our team during the winter season. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring pathways and entrances are clear of snow and ice, maintaining safety and accessibility for staff, clients, and visitors. This role requires a proactive attitude, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in outdoor conditions. Prior experience in snow removal is advantageous but not essential, as training will be provided. The position offers an opportunity to contribute to a safe environment while working in a dynamic outdoor setting.

Responsibilities

  • Clear snow and ice from walkways, driveways, entrances, and designated outdoor areas using shovels and snow removal equipment.
  • Apply salt or other de-icing materials to prevent ice formation and ensure safety.
  • Monitor weather conditions and respond promptly to changing circumstances.
  • Maintain the cleanliness of work areas by removing debris or obstructions caused by snow accumulation.
  • Collaborate with team members to complete tasks efficiently and ensure all areas are accessible.
  • Report any hazards or damage encountered during snow removal activities to management promptly.

Skills

  • Physical fitness with the ability to perform manual labour in cold weather conditions.
  • Good organisational skills to prioritise tasks effectively.
  • Basic understanding of safety procedures related to outdoor work in winter weather.
  • Ability to operate basic snow removal tools such as shovels and salt spreaders safely.
  • Time management skills to complete tasks within designated timeframes.
  • A proactive attitude with strong attention to detail to ensure thorough clearing of all designated areas. This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy outdoor work, value safety, and are committed to maintaining accessible environments during challenging weather conditions. Prior experience in food preparation, restaurant service, or culinary fields is not required but can be beneficial for those with related skills such as time management or serving experience.

Job Type: Fixed term contract

Pay: $20.00-$25.00 per hour

Work Location: In person
