Social Care Assistant – Full Time
Location: Ballymoney, Co. Wexford
Salary: €34,695 – €42,348 per annum
We are currently seeking dedicated, compassionate, and experienced Social Care Assistants to join our residential services in Co. Wexford. This is a rewarding opportunity to support adults with intellectual disabilities to live meaningful, independent, and inclusive lives within their community.
The Role
As a Social Care Assistant, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality, person-centred support in a residential setting. You will work as part of a multidisciplinary team to promote independence, wellbeing, and social inclusion in a safe, respectful, and empowering environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Support adults with intellectual disabilities in daily living, personal care, and household activities
- Promote independence, dignity, and choice in line with individual support plans
- Facilitate meaningful activities that enhance quality of life and community participation
- Maintain a safe, positive, and respectful home environment
- Adhere to safeguarding, health and safety, and organisational policies
- Complete accurate records and contribute to care planning and reviews
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, families, and external professionals
Essential Criteria
- QQI Level 5 Major Award on the QQI Framework or an equivalent qualification in Community, Health, or Social Care
- Minimum of 1 year’s experience working with adults with intellectual disabilities
- A full, clean driving licence is required
- A strong commitment to person-centred practice and rights-based support
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills
- Flexibility to work shift patterns, including evenings, weekends, and sleepovers
