Job Title: Social Care Team Lead
Organisation: Disability Services - Genesis Healthcare Ireland
Location: Tullamore, Co. Offally
Reporting to: PIC
Contract: Permanent, Full-Time (Monday to Friday 9am-5pm)

The Social Care Lead will provide strategic and operational leadership within their specialised housing unit, ensuring that the quality and safety of care reflect our values and meets the needs of each person supported. They will champion person-centred practice, ensuring service users' voices and choices are at the heart of everything we do.
The postholder will work collaboratively with their team, people using the service, families, and external partners to create an environment where good practice thrives, safeguarding is embedded, and continuous learning is encouraged. They will take responsibility for maintaining the highest standards of care, ensuring compliance with regulations, and building a culture where teams feel supported and motivated to do their best work.
This role carries significant responsibility for the wellbeing and experiences of vulnerable people in their care. The Social Care Lead will together with the PIC be the driving force behind creating a service that makes a real difference in the lives of those supported.
Key Responsibilities
Operational & Service Delivery
- Champion person centred care and support
- Provide direct supervision and social care, ensuring consistent delivery of high-quality, person-centred plans and outcomes.
- Develop and implement individualised care plans in collaboration with service users, families and the wider multi-disciplinary team
- Supporting people to build and maintain relationships in their community
- Facilitating participation in leisure, social and recreational activities
- Care planning and service delivery
- Promoting independence and building on strengths and capabilities
- Supporting health and wellbeing routines
- Act as a key point of contact for escalation of issues, complaints and concerns
- Relationship management (users, families, external partners)
Quality & Standards
- Maintain detailed and accurate documentation, including care records, incident reports and performance metrics
- Monitoring care standards and outcomes
- Analysing quality indicators (complaints, incidents, safeguarding, medication management)
- Implementing improvement strategies
Risk Management
- Identify safeguarding concerns and respond promptly according to procedures, with responsibility for promoting safe practice
- Safety culture and learning
- Lead and Support compliance with:
- HIQA Regulations
- Safeguarding Vulnerable Persons standards
- Health & Safety legislation
- Data protection and confidentiality requirements
Safeguarding & Duty of Care
- Safeguarding procedures and protocols
- Identifying and responding to concerns
- Duty of care and consent principles
- Vulnerable persons protection
Qualifications:
- Minimum Level 7 BA Social Care Studies CORU registered or in the process of CORU registration
- Minimum 2 years post-qualification residential experience
- Valid First Aid and CPR certification
- 3+ years' experience in disability or social care
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- Driving License

- Head Of Operations
- External Regulators (e.g., HIQA as required)
