Social Care Worker (SCW)

Location: Donegal

Contract: Full-time / Permanent

Service Type: Residential Services – Adults with Disabilities

Role Purpose

The Social Care Worker will provide high-quality, person-centred support to adults with disabilities, ensuring care is delivered in accordance with legislation, national standards, and best practice.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver person-centred care in line with individual support plans
Support service users to achieve independence, choice, and quality of life
Promote safeguarding, rights, and advocacy
Support emotional, behavioural, and social needs
Participate in care planning, reviews, and risk management
Maintain accurate and timely documentation and reports
Support medication management as per policy and training
Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team

Essential Criteria

Level 7 or Level 8 qualification in Social Care or related discipline
Experience working with adults with disabilities or complex needs
Knowledge of safeguarding and relevant legislation
Strong communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills
Willingness to work flexible shifts

Desirable Criteria

Experience in residential disability services

Knowledge of HIQA standards and inspections

Garda Vetting

Two professional references

Eligibility to work in Ireland
